Irish star Joe Duffy has today signed a new seven-fight contract with the UFC, reports suggest.

The news broke through MMAFighting reporter Ariel Helwani who made the announcement today per Duffy’s manager, Graham Boylan.

Duffy, who is commonly known as one of only three people to defeat lightweight kingpin Conor McGregor, made his UFC debut in March 2015 and has gone on to enjoy a successful time under the top mixed martial arts promotion with a record of (4-1) with his only loss coming to contender Dustin Poirier.

With three of his four wins coming in the form of first-round stoppages and the other win demonstrating a striking clinic against Reza Madadi, Duffy is certainly a fighter to be excited about.

With the lightweight division brimming with talents such as Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje, highlighting numerous classy operators near the top end of the division, fans will be interested to see just how far Duffy can climb the ranks, and at 29 years of age, time is certainly on his side.

The Irishman has been inactive since UFC Fight Night London and will be looking to enter the cage as soon as possible to carry on his impressive recent form inside of the Octagon.
