The polarising figure known as Makwan Amirkhani showcased his brash, yet humble attitude as he discussed his fight against Masio Fullen ahead of UFC Berlin on Saturday, June 20.
Fullen, most well known for his stint on The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America, comes into the fight with a split decision win over Alex Torres.
Amirkhani said: “I don’t care who comes next, they gave me Masio Fullen and I said yes. The only reason people know Masio Fullen is because he is fighting against me, and after this fight no body is going to talk about Masio Fullen again.
“You won’t get this kind of chance many times in your life, I don’t want to live the rest of my life saying and why I didn’t take it seriously. After this fight whether I win or lose, I can actually say I gave it everything that I have.”
It took eight seconds for Amirkhani to introduce himself to the UFC fan base back in January, with a brutal knockout of Andy Ogle. The Finnish fighter discussed how his life has changed since that monumental win and how that has started to help change his life, and the live’s of those around him; including his Mother.
Amirkhani also spoke about the deep featherweight division, and admitted he isn’t fazed by some of the potential challenges ahead.
