Sometimes the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and in Floyd Mayweather’s case, that may be truer than for most as his father once again became involved in the bad blood feud with Conor McGregor ahead of their boxing superfight on August 26.

Floyd Mayweather Sr would interrupt a closed doors media scrum to confront McGregor at the Staples Center in Los Angeles following the first leg of the Irish fighter and his son’s press conference world tour. The veteran former boxer had decided to attend McGregor’s solo press commitment, and after hearing the UFC champion threatening to break the boxing rules if he was disrespected, Mayweather Sr unleashed with an angry outburst.

“If you do it, your ass will be sued. And you boxing, that’s what you’ve gotta do. We’re going to beat the s*** out of you,” threatened an angry Mayweather Sr while the Irishman laughed it off.

“I’ll have the money after the fight….. so sue me,” teased McGregor to a laughing and entertained audience. This only enraged the boxing legend’s father further as he turned proceedings up a notch by threatening McGregor himself.

‘If you do, then I’m going to knock the f*** out of you,” scowled Mayweather Sr whilst looking entirely serious. The 64-year-old would then mimic a punch before being dragged away from the scene as McGregor smirked and laughed from the stage.

Although the world tour got off to a limp start in Los Angeles with far less fireworks than expected, the verbal confrontations between McGregor and his opponent’s father in the lead up to this fight could draw more attention than the press conferences themselves if the two continue as they have started.
