Although highly unlikely, UFC heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem hasn’t completely ruled out a possible return to kickboxing or a potential switch to boxing. The former K-1 World Grand-Prix winner says he doesn’t currently harbour any ambitions to return to the ring, but ‘never say never’.

The Dutchman currently is waiting for his next MMA fight, whether it be a title fight or another opponent. “It’s very simple to me, either I fight for the title next, or I’ll fight somebody else and win to fight for the title after that.”

“The Reem” is a guest fighter for UFC Fight Night 117, which takes place on September 23 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama.
