The Ultimate Fighting Championship have today announced the latest edition to their highly anticipated UFC on Fox 14 card as light heavyweight’s Phil Davis (13-2-0) and Ryan Bader (19-4-0) will collide.
Both fighters have recently made waves in the light heavyweight division with wins over Glover Teixeira and Ovince St. Preux respectively. With Davis, fighting out of San Diego USA, winning four of his last five match ups and Bader, fighting out of Temple AZ, USA, having a three fight win streak behind him, both athletes will be looking to solidify their position on January 24th as one of the top ranked fighters in the light heavyweight division.
“I’m going out to get this win and that is exactly what is going to happen” says Bader. “Phil is a great fighter and a win against him will keep my momentum going in 2015.”
“I’m excited to fight in front of the passionate fans of Sweden” Bader continues. “The fans there are amazing, I can’t imagine how electric the stadium will be. I’ll be looking forward to feeding off of the crowd and putting on a good show for these fans.”
As well as focusing on his own matchup, Bader will have a close eye on the headline bout between Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Johnson: “This is a great fight between two amazing fighters in our division and I will be watching as a fan of the UFC just like everyone else in the stadium. I’m looking forward to it!”
The addition of this bout to a card which also features fights between Alexander Gustafsson who takes on Anthony Johnson and Dan Henderson who fights Gegard Mousasi, means this event will feature six of the promotions finest light heavyweight’s.
UFC on Fox 14 goes down on Saturday, January 24th 2015 at the Tele2Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
