A third heavyweight contest has now been added to UFC 211 with Dmitry Poberezhets slated to make his UFC debut against Jarjis Danho on May 13 at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Poberezhets joins the UFC

Since his professional career began in 2009, Poberezhets has competed throughout Europe and holds a record of 24-5 going into his promotional debut. The 31-year-old is currently riding a 14-fight win streak finishing 11 by way of KO/TKO and two via submission.

The Ukranian’s last defeat was a submission loss to Andreas Kraniotakes at Cage Warriors 46 in 2012. With 19 of his 24 victories coming by way of stoppage, Poberezhets is another addition to the wealth of heavy hands that are beginning to accumulate on the card.

Danho will be hoping he can secure his first win under the organisation on his third attempt of trying. The 33-year-old signed with the UFC after a perfect start to his career where he held a record of 6-0 but has been a mix of unlucky and unsuccessful during his time in the promotion.

Firstly he suffered an unfortunate technical majority decision loss to Daniel Omielanczuk on his debut at UFC Fight Night 84 after the fight was stopped in the third round when Danho was unable to continue after a groin punch. In his second outing, the Syrian fought Christian Columbo only to claim a majority draw UFC Fight Night 93 on Sept. 3.
