An energetic Robert Whiteford (12-2) warned UFC Dublin opponent Darren Elkins that he doesn’t want to wrestle for 15 minutes on Oct. 24 at the 3Arena.
Indiana State Wrestling Champion Elkins (18-5) is renowned for his grappling ability, however American Top Team’s Whiteford stated his strongly worded; non-PG, disapproval for a 15 minute wrestling match on Saturday night.
“Of course I’m not wanting to f***ing wrestle for 15 minutes, we’re in there to fight, if he wants to come in there and f***ing hug my leg for 15 minutes I’m not going to be f***ing happy.
Whiteford added: “Believe me if he’s stuck on my leg for 15 minutes, I’ll be having words in his ears telling him to get the f**k off of here, we’re here to fight you know, not wrestle.”
The Scottish UFC star Whiteford also recapped his experience at UFC Glasgow, where he defeated Irishman Paul Redmond with a first round knockout and spoke about the hefty financial repercussions caused by jumping the cage and celebrating with the fans.
