UFC heavyweight Roy “Big Country” Nelson today shared the X-ray of his considerably broken hand sustained during the five round main event war endured with former heavyweight champion Josh Barnett on Sept.26 at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.
39-year-old Nelson (20-12) was handed his third consecutive loss when Barnett claimed the unanimous decision win, but remained positive in his message to fans via social media: “Back from the doctor, hand is broke,” “Big Country” wrote on his Facebook page. “Will heal up with the love & support of the Country Club Fans.”
The big hitting fan favourite was last victorious in April of 2014 with a first round knockout over the recently retired icon Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
