Scottish lightweight Stevie Ray is ready and raring to go in his UFC debut, despite only agreeing to the fight on 15 days’ notice.

After the completion of his memorable UKMMA trilogy with UFC veteran Curt Warburton, the former Cage Warriors Lightweight Champion received the chance to sign with the UFC and appear on this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night card in Krakow, Poland, and he didn’t hesitate in taking it.

“It’s short notice, but I was training anyway, doing a fight camp for one of my teammates so I got the call 15 days out so I wasn’t expecting it, but I’m good to go,” he said.

The Dinky Ninjas product will face off against Polish submission specialist Marcin Bandel (13-3), and despite the short timeframe he says he’s had a chance to check out his opponent.

“I didn’t know of him before this, but I’ve had a little look at him and he’s a submission guy, a submission specialist who’s good at the leg locks and obviously he’s in the UFC so he’s well rounded.”

The lightweight bout will feature on the prelims of this Saturday’s event at the Tauron arena, Krakow.
