After recently signing with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, rising British MMA star Tom Breese has been booked for his Octagon debut.

In his first bout on the big stage, the Birmingham Welterweight (7-0) will take on Brazilian Luiz Dutra Jr. (11-3-1) at UFC: Condit Vs. Alves on May 30 in Goiania, Brazil.

After racking up 7 straight victories on the British MMA circuit, all inside the distance with 6 coming by way of submission, Breese attracted interest from the UFC, and he announced on his twitter page last week that he’d signed a contract with the promotion.

His opponent, who’s also known as ‘Besouro’ (beetle), featured on the TUF Brasil 2 series and was the top pick by team Nogueira, until a torn ligament in his hand forced him off the show. He was then disqualified in his Octagon debut proper, against Kiichi Kunimoto for blows to the back of the head, so he’ll also be looking to impress.

The event will be the second time the UFC has visited the city, and it will take place early morning (local time), with BT Sport yet to announce when it will televise its coverage.
