The Ultimate Fighting Chapionship have this evening announced that a middleweight bout between England’s Tom Watson (17-7) and Brazil’s Rafael Natal (18-6-1) has been added to UFC 183.
Former BAMMA champion Watson has experienced a mixed bag during his stay in the UFC, suffering a split decision loss to Brad Tavares on his UFC debut. The Southampton native would bounce back in impressive fashion when TKO’d Stanislav Nedkov to earn “Knockout of the Night” and “Fight of the Night” honors at UFC on Fuel TV 7. The 32-year old would then go on a 2-fight slide, losing to Thales Leites and Nick Catone before getting back to winning ways with a win over Sam Alvey at UFC Fight Night 47 in August.
31-year old Natal who trains out of the famed Renzo Gracie academy in New York also got back winning ways when he defeated Chris Camozzi at UFC Fight Night 36. Like Watson this win put an end to back-to-back losses against Tim Kennedy and Ed Herman.
UFC 183 takes place on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and features a main event, which sees the return of P4P king Anderson Silva who takes on the Stockton Bad boy Nick Diaz.
