After the recent news that Jim Wallhead was pulled from this weekend’s UFC Fight Night 118 card in Poland per Mmajunkie, UFC matchmakers began their search for a new opponent to face welterweight Warrley Alves.

Well it turns out that the promotion had to look no further than this weeks destination as UFC newcomer Salim Touahri will serve as a late replacement in his home country for the Brit following an initial report from Combate. UFC officials are yet to announce the bout in what will be the Pole’s promotional debut.

The 28-year-old signed for the promotion on the back of a five-fight winning streak which dates back to 2014, four of which have come by knockout.  All but two of Touahri’s 10 career victories have come by way of stoppage, a pattern he will look to emulate when he steps back in the ring this Saturday for the first time in just under a year.

Alves, 26, enters the bout currently riding a two fight losing streak after suffering losses to Bryan Barberena and Kamaru Usman. The middleweight winner of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3,” is currently 3-2 in his last five bouts after securing victories over Alan Jouban, Nordine Taleb and Colby Covington after making the drop back down to middleweight.
