UFC 205 took place on Saturday, November 12 2016 at the world famous Maddison Square Garden and in the main event, Conor McGregor became the first man to hold two UFC titles belt simultaneously when he scored round TKO when over former lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.
In the co-main event UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley successfully defended his title after the his fight with Stephen Thompson was scored a majority draw. Also on the card strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk successfully defended her title as she secured a unanimous decision win Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
Conor McGregor, Yoel Romero, Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson were each awarded $50,000 fight-night bonuses after Saturday’s event.
McGregor and Romero received their bonuses for “Performance of the Night” and Woodley and Thompson took home the bonus for “Fight of the Night”.
