Hyped as the UFC’s first title fight to be broadcast on Fight Pass, the women’s strawweight clash at UFC Berlin between champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk and Jessica Penne has unfittingly flown under the radar.
Since replacing the proposed UFC Berlin main event of Alexander Gustafsson vs. Glover Texiera, there has been little talk about how Jędrzejczyk will fare in her first title defence.
Stylistically an intriguing match-up, striker vs. grappler, however Jędrzejczyk feels that Penne will be another victim on her CV on Saturday night in Berlin.
There was an intense face off at the UFC Berlin media day between the strawweights, with Penne stating, “It [championship] will be mine soon,” to which the Polish champion responded “keep on dreaming.”
