The UFC have called off their Feb. 28 London event with no set date for the next UK show.
The promotion initially announced the London date immediately following UFC Fight Night: Gustafsson vs Manuwa at London’s O2 Arena in March; however, the cancellation was speculated once UFC 184 was slated for Los Angeles on the same date, headlined by UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman taking on Vitor Belfort and women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey facing off against Cat Zingano.
On Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour, UFC Chief Global Officer Garry Cook revealed that the UFC will return to British shores in 2015, but no specific date was given.
“We’re going to move ourselves to another London date further down in the year,” Cook said. “So we had to make some changes, and as we always say with our business, it is subject to change, that’s just making sure the fans are taken care of, we don’t want to overdo it and make sure we get focused on that L.A. event at UFC 184 in Los Angeles.”
