Dustin Poirier labelled Norman Parke ‘a bum’ after the Northern Irish fighter was offered by the UFC as a replacement for the injured Joseph Duffy at UFC Dublin.

UFC Lightweight Poirier was originally slated to face “Irish” Joe Duffy in the main event of UFC Dublin at the 3Arena on Saturday, Oct 24. However a mild concussion to Duffy; suffered in a final sparring session at Tristar Gym last Saturday, forced the fight off the card.

“I was upset of course, I didn’t expect that to happen two days away from a fight and I was cutting weight and stuff so it was a bad time to hear it. That news there is no good time for that.”

It was rumoured that Norman Parke; scheduled to face Reza Madadi on the same card, offered to step-up as a replacement against Poirer, however the American Top Team’s Poirier categorically dismissed a co-main event fight against the Northern Irish fighter.

“Of course it was an option but the guy’s a bum.” Poirier “I was going to headline a card, they said we’ll give you Norman Parke but you’ll be co-main event, I said I’ll fly back home tomorrow then.”
