Quick results from UFC Fight Night 93, which saw Josh Barnett submit Andrei Arlovski in the main event.
The event took place on Saturday, September 3 from the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany.
Former UFC Heavyweight champions clashed in the main event, with Barnett submitting Arlovski in the third round. The fight began explosively with both Arlovski and Barnett wobbled after an intense opening flurry. Despite both fighters clearly fatigued, the end came in the third when 38-year-old Barnett overcame an inadvertent eye poke to take the back of Arlovski and submit him with a rear-naked-choke.

In the co-main event, Alexander Gustafsson did just enough to get a unanimous decision win over Jan Błachowicz. Despite struggling with the Polish fighter’s striking, Gustafsson used his wrestling to control Błachowicz and get a much needed win. After losses to Anthony Johnson and Daniel Cormier, the Swedish superstar is back on the right track in the 205lb division.
Elsewhere, perennial Light-Heavyweight fighter Ryan Bader sent shockwaves around the Barclaycard arena with his walkaway knockout of Ilir Latifi. The NCAA Division I All-American wrestler landed a flush knee to the chin of the Swede, which emphatically knocked-out Latifi.

As for the Brits, both Scott Askham and the debuting “Judo” Jimmy Wallhead both dropped decision losses. Yorkshire’s Askham lost a hard fought contest to former Cage Warriors Middleweight champion Jack Hermansson. It was the strong style striking from Hermansson on the inside which helped him take a huge win over Askham.
Meanwhile, Wallhead was unable to rise to the occasion against Jessin Ayari. Despite a very strong final round from the London Shootfighter, it was little too late for Wallhead, with the judges awarding Ayari the decision in Hamburg.
