On Monday it was confirmed that UFC has completed the signing of top prospect “The Dongbei Tiger” Guan Wang.
With a professional record of (15-1-1) the Chinese star comes with a high reputation after regularly appearing under the Ranik Ultimate Fighting Federation promotion.
The UFC has seen an influx of Asian athletes over the last decade, producing success stories for “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung, Dong Hyun Kim and recently released Kyoji Horiguchi.
In a recent release, “The Dongbei Tiger” revealed his desire to debut on the Singapore event on June 17.
Upon signing for the mixed martial arts giants, Guan exclaimed: “I will continue to keep a clean record in the UFC, showing my ‘China power’. It’s a dream come true, my ability is approved by the UFC now. This will also mean that the opponents I face next will be the best in the world. This will push me to train even harder.”
It will be interesting to see how the Chinese athlete fares outside his home country as he has only competed in his native China. We will soon find out how the Asian star accommodates to his new surroundings and the step-up in competition in the UFC.
