emarkedeUFC Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and his UFC 209 opponent Stephen Thompson both joined hosts Colin Cowherd and Jason Whitlock on popular Fox Sports 1 show Speak for Yourself to talk about their upcoming rematch and the possibility of fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather taking place in the near future.

When asked if he thought the fight between reigning UFC Lightweight champion MGregor (21-3) and P4P king of boxing Mayweather (49-0) would happen Woodley (16-3-1) made the following claim regarding the potential clash.

“I think it’s going to happen this year, I have a very strong insight that it’s going to happen.”

When asked about McGregors chances of beating Mayweather in a boxing match neither Woodley or Thompson seemed confident of the SBG Ireland trained fighters chances against the leader of the Money Team if the two did meet in the squared circle.

“He will lose, he will lose very convincingly but he [Mayweather] will need at least 6 rounds. Conor has been known to take some crazy punches with 4oz gloves so if you punch him with 8oz gloves it’s a different thing” stated the champion.

“He will lose, he will lose, I just don’t think it will be a 1st round thing, his going to bring something to boxing that Floyd Mayweather has never seen before” remarked Thompson.
