British featherweight contender Ashleigh ‘Cruiser’ Grimshaw (16-8) has today revealed that he aims to return to action on September 12 at Phoenix Fight Night in Bournemouth.

The outspoken Grimshaw, 33, today released the names of four fighters who had all declined the opportunity to face him, but told MMA Plus that Poland’s Kamil Lebkowski (12-4) has agreed to face the Team Titan product.

Grimshaw status

Widely regarded as one of the top 5 British fighters in UKMMA, Grimshaw has not competed since September of last year when his fight for the BAMMA Featherweight Championship was declared a no-contest following a gut-wrenching low kick to the groin from champion Tom DuQuesnoy that rendered the challenger unable to continue.

Among his sixteen career wins, Grimshaw boasts eight stoppages via knockout and seven submissions. The Londoner is undefeated in his last seven contests having not been defeated since 2011.

In contrast, the 27-year-old Lebkowski is on a seven fight win streak of his own. As a front runner in Poland’s Professional League of MMA (PLMMA), his twelve career wins are divided between six knockouts, two submissions and four decision wins.

The bout is yet to be made official.
