BAMMA 19 just got a whole lot juicer, with the addition of another potential middleweight title eliminator, as Andy “Lion Paw” DeVent (11-9) takes on Conor “Da Crook” Cooke (6-5) on March 28, from the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, England.
BAMMA announced the fight on their official Facebook page, and it comes off the heels of BAMMA 18’s initial middleweight clash which saw Cheick Kone score a huge TKO victory over SBG Ireland’s Chris “The Killing” Fields.
DeVent has won five of his last six bouts, all finishes (four TKOs, one submission) with his only loss coming to the very tough Harry McLeman at BAMMA 15. He returned to winning ways at BAMMA 16, defeating Roggy Lawson by TKO.
Cooke burst onto the scene at BAMMA 17, with a unanimous decision win over UKMMA veteran Lee Chadwick. That win snapped back-to-back losses for the Northern Irish fighter.
Both DeVent and Cooke have signed multi-fight deals with the promotion, and bolster the steadily improving middleweight division.
UPDATE: DeVent vs. Cooke has been changed to a Lonsdale british middleweight title bout, a belt which has remained vacant since McLeman left the promotion.
Also, the lightweight clash between Marc “Bonecrusher” Diakiese Vs. Jack McGann will be for the vacant Lonsdale British gold.
