Three fights have been added to the BAMMA 29 card which will be held in Birmingham On Friday 12 May.

With the main event of Brett Mcdermott vs. Ruben Wolf and thriller of a co-main event Matt Hallam vs. Yannick Bahati already announced, the card is shaping up to be another success in the Midlands.

After such a stacked and enthralling event at BAMMA 25 in Birmingham, there is huge pressure on the promotion to deliver and they seem to be pulling out all the stops to achieve this.

Just added to the event, the experienced Ronnie Mann faces English prospect and new BAMMA signing Daniel Crawford after his success in ACB Braveheart.

Stylistically, it is a great match-up. Both are well-rounded fighters and there is no telling where this fight will be won or lost. The only potentially deciding factor is the experience of Mann but the Londoner is a prospect on the rise.

After a loss to Damien Lapilus in his title fight at BAMMA 28, Mann will be looking to bounce back and get back in the mix for a title shot. After losing in both title shots at bantamweight and featherweight, Mann will be hoping it’s third time lucky.

As for Crawford, he will be looking to build on the back of a perfect 2016 which saw him claim victory in both fights. A win over Mann will prove the hype and cement his contender status.

The second of the announced fight is a lightweight bout between two English prospects in Jai Herbert and Rick Selvarajah.

This is a classic stand-up vs ground match-up. Herbert has three of his four wins by knockout, two coming from punches. For Selvarajah, he is still yet to be on the winning end of a knockout but possesses five wins from eight via submission. Selvarajah will be looking to take the fight to the floor from the off.

After failing to recover from the flash knockout from Marc Diakiese, Selvarajah lost two consecutive fights in what was an unblemished record prior to facing the current UFC starlet. With a win in his last fight, confidence is back with the Harrow native and will be looking to gain momentum.

After suffering his first defeat in his last outing against Rhys Mckee for the Lonsdale belt, West Midland ace Herbert will be looking to get back to winning ways. He hasn’t taken the easy route and is jumping straight back into the cage with one of BAMMA’s most popular and accomplished lightweights.

An unknown quantity in many ways, we see two novices enter the cage battling for the victory. Daniel Cassell, a native Brummie, is a vastly experienced amateur despite having just three professional fights to his name. Josh Plant however quickly went into the professional game and impressed on his debut.

In terms of the stylistic matchup, “Pork Chop” is a very durable fighter and is good at grinding out victories. However, he is susceptible on the floor with four of six recorded losses being by way of submission. Plant’s amateur and professional win both came by way of knockout and he will be looking to add another knockout defeat to the home fighter’s record.

Plant’s fight comes off the back of news of him signing a new multi-fight deal with BAMMA. Formerly of Golden Ticket Fight Promotions, the Leicester man makes the transition to one of the biggest promotions in Europe. Known for his aggressive style, Plant will be looking to mark his BAMMA debut in style and pick up where he left off.

For Cassell, he is the more experienced man who could well be serving as a gatekeeper to the rising prospect that is “Power” Plant. Cassell will be looking to weather any early storms from Josh and grind out a victory as he so often has done in his career.
