In the aftermath of his stunning K.O. win over Oli Thompson at BAMMA 17 in their ‘Battle of the Spartans’, Brett McDermott has signed on the dotted line with the promotion. Following early exchanges in the bout, Thompson caught McDermott in a Sacrifice Throw. McDermott was the quicker of the two to his feet and caught Thompson with a short right hand that sent Thompson face first to the canvas.

Fighting out of Barrow Mixed Martial Arts, McDermott first appeared at BAMMA 12, where he came in as a late replacement on a weeks notice and came up short against Thomas Denham. His triumphant return to BAMMA, came at BAMMA 17 on December 6th against Oli Thompson at the Victoria Warehouse, Manchester. Credited with the loudest fans on the night, McDermott is eager to get right back in there and progress with his career with BAMMA:

“I’m over the moon to sign for such a great promotion as BAMMA. I’ve fought for BAMMA twice now, once on my pro debut and more recently on the 6th of Dec and enjoyed the experience like no other show I’ve competed on.

I will always try my best to entertain the fans and represent MMA to the best of my ability. Win, lose or draw I will always bring a fight to the cage and make no mistake my goal is to win the BAMMA LHW belt”

McDermott has signed a mutli-fight contract over 18 months. News of his first fight will be announced shortly.
