Following the announcement of Brett McDermott vs. Ruben Wolf for the heavyweight title at BAMMA 29, the promotion immediately followed with the announcement of Matt Hallam vs. Yannick Bahati as the co-main event.

The pair first met in November 2012 under promotion Fight UK MMA when “Black Mamba” won via TKO in the second round. The pair have experienced similar success since that fight.

“Farmer Boy” is in scintillating form, winning his last three bouts whilst maintaining his 100 per cent knockout rate. With incredible knockout power, fine form and confidence peaking, Hallam sees himself with a brilliant chance of avenging one of only two defeats to his name.

Despite his great form, Hallam has had 10 months out since his last fight meaning come fight night, the Boston native will have had a year out of the cage. With just two fights in the last three years, ring rust is a major concern. However, after looking so impressive in his last outing, a break for Hallam should cause no danger or worries.

Bahati has experienced mixed fortunes recently with three wins and two losses. After suffering a flash knockout to Michiel Opperman at EFC 53, the West-Midlander demonstrated his own power when he knocked out David Biurski to claim victory at EFC 56.

After beating Hallam in 2012, Bahati has both the confidence and know-how to repeat his success over his English counterpart. However, with Hallam on such a good run and with an impeccable knockout ratio, Bahati has to be weary and learn from the Opperman fight.
