Leeroy Barnes

Hot off the heels of our first fight card announcement which featured Amateur bouts between Tom Mowle and James Reedman as well as Louise Hillier and Ameesha Bhudia-Patel, to name but a few, Warrior Fight Series can now announce a further 3 bouts to the line up for our next show, WFS 5, which takes place on February 13th at London’s iconic fight venue; The York Hall.

Added to the card is a professional middleweight bout between Leeroy Barnes and Dom Clark, a welterweight bout between Jaz Singh and Marcus Paul and an amateur bantamweight bout between Mak Mwanza and Adam Amarasinghe.

Professional Middleweight Bout
Dominic Clark vs. Leeroy Barnes

Dominic Clark comes into this bout with an official record of 5-8 whilst we know that he has much more experience than this since some fights are not record on Sherdog, the most reliable MMA database. Whilst his profile says he is on a 2 fight losing streak, he is actually coming off an impressive win at Showtime Promotions where he became their champion. Now training out of Jordan Miller MMA, Clark is known for his toughness, durability and with 480% of his wins coming via T/KO, his power, too. Clark always brings an army of follower and since this is a fight that he has been looking for, he is going to want to put on a great performance for his fans.

Leeroy Barnes (13-15) is very well known on the UK MMA circuit not only for his skills in the cage, but his willingness to be extremely outspoken. After enjoying a stint at BAMMA where he took on some of the best UK fighters out there, including a legendary brawl with Jack Marshman, he then moved to Cage Warriors. Known for never turning a tough fight down, he did just that with the new employer and after a controversial decision loss to Norman Paraisy, one of the best in Europe, he the dropped 4 more losses consecutively. After some time off, competing in many BJJ tournaments, he is back on the road and after dispatching of Wayne Johnston in super-quick time; he is taking a step up in competition when he takes on Dom Clark in London. Known for his power-guillotine, 11 of his 13 wins have come by way of submission so this could turn out to be a striker-grappler showdown.

Professional Welterweight Bout
Jaz Singh (1-1) vs. Marcus Paul (2-0)

Fighting out of Team Crossface under UFC veteran Dave Lee, Jaz Singh (1-1) is a relatively new name on the domestic scene. With relatively little known about him, we know he brings a crowd with him and training with Lee is definitely no going to hinder his ground game. He is coming into the fight as an unknown entity within the pro ranks, and this could play into his hands when he enters the WFS cage on fight night.

Marcus Paul (1-0) made his professional debut back in May when he dispatched of formidable striker, Mike Garrett, in quick succession via Arm-Triangle choke. Training out of Team Titan under Micky Papas, he regularly trains with the likes of UFC’s Brad Pickett and other notable UK standouts such as Jake Bostwick and Bola Omoyele. If the talk is true about Jaz, then this is a step up for Marcus, but one he is not shying away from. He is hungry and ready to make a statement to the welterweight division.

Amateur Bantamweight Bout
Mak Mwanza vs. Adam Amarasinghe

Another high quality amateur bout added to the WFS 5 card is one that we are extremely happy to be showcasing as two of the finest bantamweights in the country square off.

Mak Mwanza (3-1) is coming off a loss at ROC where he was defeated by another young prospect in Josh Onwardi, however that was at Featherweight and he has now decided to take the plunge to 135lbs. Fighting out of Team Titan alongside Marcus Paul, this young fighter is one for the future. Always improving and ever ready for a challenge, Mwanza will be focused on putting on a great show for the fans when he enters the arena on February 13th.

Adam Amarasinghe (2-0), brother of TUF veteran Dean Amasinger, is a fighter that is sliding under the radar. Now 2-0 and fighting out of NFM Windsor alongside a great crop of fighters, he has everything around him to be a success in this sport. This, too, is a step up for Adam on paper and one that he is relishing.

We really will be witnessing some of the future’s brightest talent on February 13th and this is just the start of the announcements. Please stay tuned for more match-up announcements as the momentum builds towards WFS: Warrior Fight Series 5, our biggest show to date.
