A hugh domestic light heavyweight showdown is rumoured to top the bill at next months Norwich Contenders 18 show.

According sources who spoke exclusively to MMA Pus, Stuart “He-Man” Austin has agreed to take on Przemysław “Misiek” Mysiala but is waiting for the Polish born Londoner to agree to the fight after there was an apparent hitch in negotiations.

Former BAMMA Lonsdales heavyweight champion Austin (11-3) made a successful debut at light heavyweight when he scored a TKO win over Dutch fighter Nills Van Noord at EuroFC 1 last October.

The 28-year old who trains out of Team Titan in London, England has finished 10 of his 14 professional fights with 6 of his wins coming via KO/TKO and 4 via submission.

His opponent Mysiala (20-9-1) has been in a rich vain of form after ending a 3-fight skid which included losses to Jason Jones, Bellators “Moneyweight” kingpin Muhammed Lawal and a unanimous  decision defeated to Carl Kinslow at UCMMA 35.

Since his last set back the Polish born fighter has gone on a 5-fight, 3 and a half year unbeaten run which has seen him defeat Lloyd Clarkson, Ryan White, Marcin Zontek and most recently Jose Daniel Toledo Canellas at Celtic Gladiator 10 last November.

MMA Plus reached out to Austin who had the following to say about this exciting domestic scrap.

“Me and Przemyslaw both like to finish the fight and I am excited to get the win against such a tough guy. His been about since before I turned pro and his on a 4-fight win streak so I think it s a big fight for the UK and if I win the fight it will push me up the light heavyweight rankings.”

“His a tough guy and his been around the block, his fought a lot of good guys so finishing him will send a message out to a lot of people.”

“I don’t know what the hold up is may be he knows I’m going to end his unbeaten run but I’m looking to make a statement this year and beating him in a good way to start.”

Norwich Contenders 18 will take place at the Norfolk Showground Arena in Norwich on Saturday, February 25 and if the bout is agreed it will surely be one of the UK’s biggest tussles so far in 2017.

MMA Plus will be on hand to bring you up to the minute results from the event.
