Top mixed martial artist and Brazilian jujitsu enthusiast Tom Breese (10-1) warmed up for his upcoming super fight at the Polaris BJJ invitational with a submission win over reigning Cage Warriors lightweight champion and submission specialist Chris Fishgold (15-1-1) earlier today.

The grappling match which took place at the BJJ 24/7 event in Manchester, England saw former BAMMA Lonsdale welterweight champion Breese defeat Fishgold, who trains out of the Next Generation gym in Liverpool by locking in a rear naked choke for the win in a keenly fought encounter.

 

The 25-year old has made an impressive start to his mixed martial arts career going on a 10-fight unbeaten run, defeating likes Luiz Jorge Dutra JrCathal Pendred and Keita Nakamura before suffering a split decision loss to Sean Strickland last time out at UFC 199 in June.

Breese’s opponent next weekend will be 2x IBJJF British National medalist Ben Dyson man who has also medalled at this years English Open Nogi Weight & Absolute Championships as well as securing notable wins at Polaris 3 and most recently at the Newaza Challenge EU which took place at the Combat and Strength Show in July.

For diehard MMA fans in the UK the name Ben Dyson will be a familiar one as the 27-year old once held the Shock N’Awe Amateur British Welterweight title.
