‘Cris’ Cyborg continues her run of dominance with a violent first round stoppage of Faith Van Duin at Invicta FC 13 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Brazilian; who was celebrating her 30th birthday, showed no nonsense inside the cage, immediately pressing Van Duin, landing a barrage of unanswered bombs.

The finish came after just 45 seconds, with ‘Cyborg’ pressing the Kiwi against the cage, finishing with a superb knee to the solar plexis followed by a few punches for good measure.

In her post-fight speech Cyborg said: “Lets go train hard, try make 135, 140 for fight with Ronda Rousey. Stop running.”

Justino continues her incredible supremacy at Featherweight, undefeated for more than ten years. With the wins starting to look easier every time, the plaudits continue to question when a UFC call-up will come to fruition.

There’s no doubt ‘Cyborg’ is more than worthy of a position in the world’s premier fight organisation, but there are many factors stopping the Invicta FC champion from progressing.

The UFC have no plans for a 145lb division any time soon, and it has been made clear by UFC President Dana White that the only way ‘Cyborg’ gets signed is if she proves she can make Bantamweight.

The Chute Boxe Academy fighter has teased a divisional drop down for some time now, and the ‘won’t shewill she‘ dilemma has created much anxiety for fans who want to see her face off with UFC Bantamweight champion Rousey.

‘Cyborg’ has rallied for a catchweight bout for her UFC debut, but it has seemingly fallen upon deaf ears.

When asked about a move down to 135lbs for her next fight, ‘Cyborg’ avoided a decisive answer. However she clarified wanting to fight in September, presumably on Invicta FC 14, which takes place September 12 in Kansas City.

For now, it seems Justino is relegated to staying at 145lbs in Invicta FC, but her rise as one of the best fighters in the world rides parallel to that of the UFC’s Rousey.

Unfortunately, parallels almost never intersect in combat sports, and it will take something very special to make a fight that many yearn for, actually happen.
