Mega Anderson battered Charmaine Tweet on route to a 2nd round TKO stoppage at Invicta FC 21 to be crowned the interim Featherweight champion.

The event which took place at the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City saw Anderson (8-2) go on the front foot from the beginning of the fight, out striking Tweet (9-6) and pushing the Canadian up against the cage where the pair would exchange knees inside the clinch which left the Tweet bloodied at the end of the opening round.

In the 2nd stanza the Australian would quickly take the centre of the cage and would proceed to pepper Tweet with punches who would counter with multiple spinning back fist attempts that would missed the new champion.

The end of the fight would come about when Anderson landed a big head kick blooding “No So Sweet” who would turn away forcing the referee to bring a stop to the contest.

Following the fight the new champion would take to the mic and put the newly formed UFC Women’s Featherweight division on notice by declaring her desire to face the winner of Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie who face each other at UFC 208.

Pa’aluhi shocks Kianzad to score 1st Round Submission

In the co-headline bout Raquel Pa’aluhi would out grapple the returning Pannie Kianzad on route to a 1st round submission win.

In the opening moments of the round Pa’aluhi (6-5) would secure a single leg trip to take Kianzad (8-2) to the canvas and would proceed to land at will from half guard while maintaining control and transitioning to the back of the former Cage Warriors champion to lock in the rear naked choke for the tap.

Haga puts Montenegro to sleep but still loses the fight

Their was a controversial outcome to the second bout of the evening as strawweight Celine Haga would choke out Amy Montenegro in the dying moments of the 3rd but would still lose the fight.

Montenegro (8-2) who was leading on all of the judges score cards with 30-seconds to go before Haga (10-14) would lock in a choke sending her opponent to dreamland seconds before the bell but the referee would not call the fight.

As a result Montenegro would be awarded the decision 29-28 across the board.
