Two world championship bouts have been confirmed for December’s World Series of Fighting 16 event.

In the main event, WSOF welterweight champion Rousimar Palhares (16-6) will face Jon Fitch (26-6-1) in a contest originally scheduled to go down this past July.

Brazilian leg lock specialist Palhares made an immediate impact on his World Series of Fighting debut when he won the welterweight title submitting then champion Steve Carl via first round with the heel hook.

His opponent Fitch has had a mixed bag of fortune during his WSOF run after being on the wrong end of a shock submission defeat at the hands of Josh Burkman at WSOF 3. Since his initial set back American Kickboxing Academy trained Fitch has bounced back, scoring back-to-back wins over Marcelo Alfaya and Dennis Hallman.

In the co-main event WSOF featherweight champion Rick Glenn (15-2) makes the first defense of his title against number 1 contender Lance Palmer (8-1).

Red hot Glenn who is currently on a 13-fight win streak won the title at WSOF 10 this past June when he scored a 2nd round TKO win over then champion Georgi Karakhanyan.

Team Alpha Male’s Palmer earned his title shot this past June after he submitted Nick LoBosco to secure a title shot and we look to avoid becoming Glenn’s 14th victim in a row when the meet on December 13th.
