Frank Warren has announced a WBO super-welterweight world title eliminator rematch between Brit’s Liam Smith and Liam Williams which will place on October 28th in Newcastle’s Metro Arena.

The rematch comes after the first bout ended in controversial fashion, with Williams’s corner pulling him out of the fight at the start of the 10th round, due to a cut leading to an excessive amount of blood loss.

Promoter Frank Warren, has stated that “the fight lands in Newcastle after neither man was willing to concede home advantage” thus leaving Newcastle as a neutral playing field for both competitors.

Warren also confirmed undercard bouts for the card; Thomas Patrick Ward will defend his British Super Bantamweight title against Sean Davis and Nathan Gorman will look to capture the vacant English Heavyweight title against Nick Webb.
