With UFC on Fox having never failed to provide high octane and memorable bouts, the card for UFC’s debut on Fox Sports is continuing to please as one-time knockout of the Night winner Michael Johnson (12-8, pictured) agrees to face multi-time Fight of the Night and Submission on the Night winner Joe Lauzon (22-8), according to MMA Weekly.

Set for August 17 at the TD Garden in Boston, UFC on Fox 1 marks the launch of Fox’s latest nationwide network.

Returning to fight in his home state of Massachusetts, the always entertaining Joe Lauzon most recently felt defeat at the hands of Jim Miller in an electrifying bout at UFC 155, of which was awarded 2012 Fight of the Year.

With a solidified reputation for entertaining bouts, it’s likely that Lauzon’s place in the UFC is secure, at least for now. In contrast, we can expect to see a driven Michael Johnson come August 17, as the lightweight contender will no doubt feel the pressure to perform, following two consecutive losses, not to mention the UFC’s recent shift of increased cuts and roster rotation.
