It has emerged today that ex-UFC fighter Tom “Kong” Watson (17-9) is rumoured to be set to sign with Bellator MMA.

The ultra tough Englishman experienced mixed fortunes during his time in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, picking up wins over Stanislav Nedkov and Sam Alvey. Unfortunately Watson dropped decisions to Brad Tavares, Thales Leites, Nick Catone, Rafael Natal and Chris Camozzi during an almost 3-year stint with the UFC.

Now sources close to the situation have informed MMA Plus that the 31-year old Watson, will make the jump to Bellator MMA and could feature on their much talked about London card which is rumoured to be talking place early next year.

When Watson’s signing to the Viacom owned promotion is confirmed, the Southampton born fighter will join a roster which boasts an assortment of top UK talent. This includes: Heavyweight James Thompson, top ranked Welterweights Michael “Venom” Page and Paul “Semtex” Daley, as well as representation in their Light-Heavyweight division which includes Linton “The Swarm” Vassell and Current Bellator 205lb Champion Liam McGeary.

The UKMMA and UFC veteran will be a strong addition to the growing Bellator roster, and bolsters the promotion’s efforts at attracting some of the sport’s best talent.
