The Enfusion Live -85kg champion Ibrahim El Boustati has revealed he will fight former GLORY Kickboxing star Marc de Bonte in 2017.

Scheduled to face Andrew Tate in December, El Boustati will challenge another top kickboxing name, when he meets Belgium fighter de Bonte next February, in the city of Eindhoven.

Since losing the GLORY Welterweight title to Joseph Valtellini two years ago at GLORY 17, de Bonte has flirted with professional boxing but recently returned to his roots, defeating Artur Gorlov at Kunlun Fight 51 by unanimous decision.

Speaking on the K1ANOOP podcast, El Boustati gave details of his upcoming fight schedule with Enfusion:

“In February I will be fighting another big Enfusion event in Eindhoven where the rematch with [Mohammed] Jaraya and [Nordin] Ben Moh. I will fight against former Glory welterweight champion Marc de Bonte. He’s now stepping up a weight.”

Similar to El Boustati’s recent fight against Filip Verlinden at Enfusion Live 41, the clash with de Bonte will also be a non-title bout.

However, “The Beast” is still approaching the de Bonte match-up with his champion’s mindset:

“He wants to push me away from the throne and that’s not going to happen.”

“Its a big gap between the welterweight and middleweight. It’s like 10 kilos. I think it will be a mistake for him.”

The -72kg Enfusion League got underway last weekend, where Mohammed Jaraya lost a second rematch by decision against Tayfun Ozcan. El Boustati revealed that his own -85kg division will be receiving the same treatment in the near future.

He said: “Next year, 2017 in September, there will be a 85kg $200,000 tournament like there is for the 72kg guys.”

El Boustati also revealed some exciting news about the forthcoming Enfusion Live event next September:

“It will be two tournaments, one for the Middleweights and one in the 67kg division.”

“Fabio Pinca will participate as well in 67kg with Ilias Bulaid. Me and Marc de Bonte will participate in the middleweight tournament and the rest of the fighters need to qualify theirselves over the year.”
