GLORY 23: Las Vegas

After it was revealed by GLORY CEO Jon Franklin that the promotion would be venturing to Las Vegas in August for GLORY 23: Las Vegas, the promotion have announced their first fight for the vacant welterweight world title.

Neiky Holzken and Raymond Daniels will battle it out at GLORY 23: Las Vegas which is set to take place on Friday, August 7 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

It was announced via Bloody Elbow on Thursday, that reigning GLORY Welterweight World Champion “Bazooka” Joe Valtellini had vacated his title in order to take a break from training and competition; due to post-concussion syndrome.

Undefeated under the GLORY banner and riding an eight-fight winning streak, Nieky “The Natural” Holzken (86-11-0, 45 KOs) unfortunately for fight fans will not have the opportunity to face “Bazooka Joe” again after their 2013 Fight of the Years.

Instead, he faces the  human highlight reel Raymond “The Real Deal” Daniels (27-2-0, 17 KOs).

Both men have crossed paths before, back in February at GLORY 19: Virginia during the finals of the welterweight tournament. It was an exciting fight but one that Holzken would be victorious in, scoring a definitive third round TKO.

Additional bouts for GLORY 23, including the participants in GLORY’s one-night, four-man Middleweight Contender Tournament, will be announced at a later date.
