GLORY 23: Las Vegas goes down at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Friday, August 7 and will be headlined by welterweight title fight, Nieky Holzken vs. Raymond Daniels.
The last outing from the premier kickboxing organisation, GLORY 22: France, was broadcast via 24-hour tape delay on Spike UK, however confirmation from the promotion has revealed GLORY 23 will not be shown on UK television.
GLORY’s official response stated:
“GLORY 23 will not be airing on Spike UK. In fact, it will not air live on television in the UK. As a widely distributed international brand, negotiating long term contracts with broadcasters is an important part of the process and one that’s being worked on as we speak. Fans will be able to watch GLORY on television in the UK very soon.”
However it is not all bad news, as GLORY have provided alternate methods for viewers in the UK and Ireland to watch GLORY 23: Las Vegas, which includes two Brits, Chad Sugden facing Murthel Groenhart on the SuperFight Series and Daniel Sam battling American Xavier Vigney in the co-main event of the GLORY main card.
“That said, GLORY does not want to ignore the demands of UK fans who value the world’s best striking product. There are two ways to watch. The first is the PPV stream provided by Eversport for $9.99. This has been a staple for countries that do not air the event live and for GLORY 23, the UK is one of them.”
Eversport’s PPV has been very reliable since the promotion started streaming with GLORY 19 in February of this year, offering the SuperFight Series and GLORY 23: Las Vegas main card for just $9.99 each.
Although, the promotion will also offer the event on tape-delay via internet television service Pluto TV.
“Exclusive to the UK and Ireland, GLORY 23 will be offered as a free webcast at 9pm UK time on Saturday via pluto.tv, a company that GLORY has recently partnered with to provide exclusive GLORY programming.”
Founded in 2013, Pluto TV is “a free internet television service broadcasting over 100 channels full of the TV shows, movies and Internet videos you love, all on one dial.”
I’ve had a scope around the service and it’s definitely a must see for fight fans, with GLORY having its own dedicated channel alongside content from: UFC, ONE Championship, WSOF and more.
GLORY’s next event will take place in San Jose, California, when they join Bellator MMA for DYNAMITE! British knockout artist Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley will make his GLORY debut in the co-main event.
