Nieky Holzken is back in action on December 9th. The former GLORY welterweight champion told MMA Plus he’s fighting Alim Nabiev on GLORY Redemption in Ahoy Rotterdam.

Holzken was supposed to fight the Azerbaijani-Russian-Ukrainian kickboxer last September, when Nabiev filled in for the injured Yoann Kongolo on GLORY 45 in Amsterdam.

Later, MMA Plus reported that “The Natural” also had sign off due to injuries to his left shin and foot.

Six weeks later, the Dutchman says he is back to 100 percent to fight Nabiev. It will be Holzken’s first fight since losing the title rematch to Cédric Doumbé on GLORY 42: Paris and his first non-title bout since August 2015.

Nabiev was also pulled from GLORY 45 and made his GLORY debut last weekend as the curtain jerker of the GLORY 47 SuperFight Series in Lyon against Jimmy Vienot. He won by split-decision: 3x 29-28, 1x 30-27 and 1x 28-29.

GLORY heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven will defend his title for the first time in 15 months in the main event of GLORY: Redemption. “The King of Kickboxing” takes on Jamal Ben Saddik in a rematch.
