A lightweight clash between double Muay Thai world champion Panicos Yusuf (34-3) and Stephen Meleady (37-16) has been added to The Main Events next show.

Ultra tough Irishman Meleady, who recently joined the ranks of one of the countries top gyms, Bad Company gym in Leeds will go up against a man who counts former stadium champion Rittijak Kaewsamrit, Dutch star Sergio Wielzen and Italian Calgero Palmieri amongst the high calibre opponents he has bested during his 37-fight career, and is currently enjoying a 21-fight winning streak.

Despite the sparkling form of Yusuf, current WMC European champion Meleady presents a truly stern test for the All Powers gym trained fighter with an aggressive and relentless fighting style that has proven too much for many of his opponents so far. Like his opponent, Meleady has fought at the very highest level against some of the best fighters on the planet and is one of few westerners to be ranked at the famous Lumpini stadium in Thailand.

In his last Main Event appearance in 2012, Meleady secured a win over the countries No. 1 ranked super-lightweight Keith Mclachlan and also holds a win over Paul Karpowicz. Having lived in Thailand for several years he has seen and done it all during a career spanning 53 fights, during which time he has faced the likes of world renowned Thai superstar Saenchai, Sam-A and Rungravee Sasiprapa.

This fight features two of the very best lightweights in Europe up against one another in one of many bouts on The Main Event that will be in contention for fight of the year!

The Main Event arena tour takes place on Saturday, May 23rd, 2015 at the Barclay card arena in Birmingham and MMA Plus will be there to bring you all the action.
