Moments after his victory against Asa Ten Pow at Muay Thai Grand Prix 6 Carlton Lieu spoke to Andreas Georgiou about the most important win of his young career.

The contest was a title eliminator for the Lion Fight Light-Welterweight title, with Lieu now likely earning himself a position on a future Lion Fight card over in the United States of America.

Lieu spoke about how the partnership between the two promotions has benefited the sport of Muay Thai.

“I think the partnership between Lion Fight and Muay Thai Grand Prix is wicked. We started watching them and we started watching us and it just makes Muay Thai bigger in general.”

In a back-and-fourth encounter which saw the Team Tieu trained athlete connect with some venomous leg kicks, Ten Pow was able to counter with slick combos.

“There were a few times he hit me and it did hurt, but it was more that he didn’t take a step backwards which did make him feel really strong but I managed to play it smart and I managed to get the win.”
