Lion Fight 24

It was probably the most vicious Lion Fight Promotions event ever. Elbows rained down from the heavens with some bloody finishes on Lion Fight 24 at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn., however it was an unsuccessful night for British representation.

Stephen Meleady came up short against Ognjen Topic, who continued to rock the Bad Company Gym boxer over five rounds. Meleady did showcase some good flurries throughout the fight, when he put Topic on the defensive, but it wasn’t enough for the win. Topic claimed the vacant Lightweight strap.

Also, Double K’s Charlie Peters fell victim to Jo Nattawut elbow party, who bludgeoned the Brit to get the finish in Round three. Nattawut successfully defended his Super Welterweight title, before calling out Yodsanklai Fairtex.

As for the rest of the card, Ky Hollenbeck captured a technical decision over Richard Abraham after two accidental headbutts. The fight continued after the first but the second opened a deep laceration over Hollenbeck’s left eye. Upon the doctor’s orders the referee stopped the fight, which lead to Hollenbeck controversially being named the victor.

Gaston Bolanos and Chris Mauceri also picked up brutal spinning elbow wins, whilst Julio Pena and Yelson Berdugo fought in a “Fight of the Night.”
