It has emerged over the weekend that Muay Thai Grand Prix (MTGP) and Lion Fight Promotions will team up this November to bring UK fans MTGP Presents Lion Fight 39.

The event which is slated to take place on Saturday, November 18 at the O2 Indigo Arena in London, England and will see the supershow headlined by a  cruiserweight title fight between Chip “The Surgeon” Moraza-Pollard and Jordan Smith.

Reigning cruiserweight champion Moraza-Pollard (5-0) who has made a perfect start to life as a professional will make the first defence of the title he won in a thrilling five-round affair against Paul Banasiak at Lion Fight 37 when he faces faces England’s own rising star Smith (12-0) who has also made an unbeaten start to his career. 

In the co-main event, the MTGP super featherweight title will be at stake as current champ Jose “Pitbull” Varela of Portugal will go to war with Scotland’s Keith McLachlan.

The announcement of this event will be the first time the Scott Kent-led promotion will venture outside of the United States and will come as welcome news to fans here in the United Kingdom.

“This will be a spectacular show and the first of many joint events between MTGP and Lion Fight. We are already putting plans together for two partner shows in 2018 to showcase the two organizations’ very best talent.”
