van soest, lion fight

Lion Fight Promotions Featherweight and Super Bantamweight champion Tiffany van Soest has been forced to sell her championship belt to pay off debts.

Californian van Soest won the Super Bantamweight title back in January against Ashley Nichols at Lion Fight 27, making her the only two weight world champion in the promotion’s history.

However, the two-weight champion took to social media platform Sqor in the early hours of this morning, where she claimed she had yet to be paid by Lion Fight for her win against Nichols two months ago.

Dubbed, “Timebomb” for her explosive strikes, 26 year-old van Soest stated: “Lion Fight Promotions has still not paid me for my championship bout two months ago. I need to sell my World Title to pay my bills and relieve the debt accumulated in preparation for that bout.”

It is unclear whether van Soest is selling her Featherweight or Super Bantamweight crown, but the latter looks more likely.

Unfortunately, I’ve been unable to find the actual item on Ebay, meaning van Soest may have the bidding set as private, or it has since been removed.

Lion Fight Promotions – who have recently inked partnerships with UK’s Muay Thai Grand Prix and Australia’s Warrior’s Way – have yet to release a statement on the situation.
