Wakeling

One of the UK’s most dominant ever Muay Thai fighters Michael “The Punisher” Wakeling will return to fight under Thai rules on Muay Thai Grand Prix II, November 22 at the indigo (The O2).

Wakeling returns to Muay thai for the first time in four years, and will face Surinamese fighter Regian “The Immortal” Eersel for the vacant MTGP Super Middleweight Championship.

The Beckenham, England thai fighter has spent some time away from combat sport, but returned to professional kickboxing action in May where he defeated Chad Sugden to claim the IKF Super Middleweight title.

His opponent, 23 year-old Eersel shot to prominence earlier this year with his highlight reel knockout of Moroccan Khalid Bourdif. The towering fighter; standing at six feet two inches tall, has proven himself as a commanding Thai fighter, having won 37 wins of 39 bouts.

It will be a tough test for Eersel, who will fight in London, England for the first time in his career, against a man in Wakeling who is undefeated in ten long years.
