A fight between ONE featherweight king Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen and former champion Narantungalag Jadambaa is set to headline the Asian promotions ROOTS OF HONOR event.

Former two division champion Nguyen will enter the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila on April 12th off the back of an impressive run which saw him win ONE Featherweight and ONE Lightweight World Titles.

However, after injury last November forced the double champ to vacate the lightweight strap, the now fully recovered Nguyen is now slated to make his much-awaited return to action against the dangerous veteran Jadambaa.

The challenger Jadambaa first burst onto the ONE Championship scene in May of 2014, when defeated veteran Honorio “The Rock” Banario. The Philipino would then go on to win six of his last eight contests which includes a career-defining win which saw him captured the ONE Featherweight World Title with a victory over Japan’s Koji Oishi.

Now the 43-year old who holds notable victories coming over the likes of Kotetsu Boku, Edward Kelly, and Kazuki Tokudome will look to add the 29-year old champion to his resume and reclaim ONE championship gold.

In the co-main event of the evening, a highly-anticipated rematch will go down as former World Champion Joshua “The Passion” Pacio of the Philippines challenges reigning ONE Strawweight World Champion Yosuke “Tobizaru” Saruta of Japan.

When he enters the ONE cage Pacio will look to exact revenge over former conqueror Saruta who scored a monumental upset win the title in a extremely close split decision win at ONE: ETERNAL GLORY

Given the nature of the win, the matchmakers at ONE Championships have decided to run it straight back and the pair will square off to determine who is the true king at strawweight.

ONE Roots of Honor does down on 12th April 2019 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila and MMA Plus will be on hand to bring you the latest from the event.
