The Ultimate Fighting Championship has today announced that Swedish lightweight Reza “Mad Dog” Madadi has been cut from the World’s Number 1 mixed martial arts promotion.

As reported this past Friday (August, 16th) via Swedish MMA website MMAnytt.se that Madadi (13-2) has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for his involvement in an aggravated burglary this past May.

UFC officials had the following to say on Madadi release: “Following his conviction by a court of law in Sweden, the UFC organization has elected to terminate its relationship with Reza Madadi based on its Fighter Code of Conduct and the provision of its promotional agreement concerning fighter conduct.”

Since the news broke a further video footage (see above) has surfaced online which shows the raid as well as the suspects trying to evade the police in a Audi estate car.

Madadi has until September 6, 2013 to appeal the verdict.
