Royce Gracie refused to rule out retirement while speaking to MMA Plus at the Bellator 158 press conference in London yesterday.

The 49-year-old made a surprising return to action in February for a trilogy fight versus Ken Shamrock after seven years away from the sport. And despite leaving Bellator 149 victorious it was widely assumed that the fight was a one off appearance.

However, Gracie has now revealed that his relationship with Scott Coker and Bellator means that the door is still open for competition in MMA.

Speaking about a fight in the future he said: “I’m not going to close that door.

“You never know, it could happen.

“I’m trying to stop but Scott Coker keeps bringing me back.”

The UFC Hall of Famer says that the thrill of the fight, which he experienced when defeating Shamrock via TKO in Houston, is the feeling that keeps him coming back.

“I was right at home. After the first minute of the fight I go, ‘okay, I’m home.’ ”

The Brazilian also made sure to remind fans, and perhaps future opponents, that he keeps himself in fighting shape at all times.

“Just because I haven’t fought in a long time it doesn’t mean that I’m sitting at home doing nothing,

“I’m always training, always keeping the sword sharp and clean.”

With Scott Coker also refusing to rule out scheduling a fight for the legendary Royce Gracie there is every possibility that we will see him fight again. Whether we want to or not.
