ACB 65

This Saturday, Russian promotion Absolute Championship Berkut will return to the UK for ACB 65; the event will now take place in Sheffield Arena’s Iron Hall after they were forced to cancel their original location of California, USA due to unforeseen circumstances.

Tomorrow’s event will mark the first time that an ACB title is on the line in the UK as ACB light-heavyweight champion and former twelve-fight UFC veteran Thiago Silva will defend his ACB gold against unbeaten Russian prospect Batraz Agnaev. The Brazilian is currently riding a three fight win streak including a decision victory against Jared Torgeson at ACB 51.

Agnaev holds a perfect professional record of 3-0 with all three of his victories coming by way of first round stoppage. This will be the Russian’s second fight for the promotion after he secured a KO victory over Max Nunes at ACB 54 in Manchester.

The co-main event plays host to the highest of the British representatives as Manchester’s own Brendan Loughnane makes his second appearance under the ACB banner.
The 27-year old is regarded as one of Britain’s biggest prospects and will look to dispose of another UFC veteran in Pat Healy whilst hoping to make it five wins on the bounce.

Healy is by far the more experienced man having had over 50 professional bouts. A win for the American would see him snap a two fight losing streak as he hopes to prove he has what it takes to compete with the new generation of MMA stars.

Elsewhere on the card another former UFC alumni will enter the ring as Leandro Silva takes on underrated U.S. regional star Joshua Aveles.

The American Top Team member will look to emulate his successful debut at ACB 51 which saw him dispatch of Pat Healy in just 38 seconds.
