Top European promotion KSW has today announced a champion vs. champion match-up which will serve as the headline bout for their historic KSW Colosseum event.
Reigning middleweight champion Mamed Khalidov will square off against the promotion’s welterweight champion Borys Mańkowski in an epic showdown which will be contested at a yet to be agreed catchweight.
Khalidov (32-4-2, 12 KO, 17 Sub) is undefeated in his last thirteen bouts and holds notable victories over Matt Lindland, Jesse Taylor, Rodney Wallace, Kendal Grove, Melvin Manhoef and long-time KSW champion Michał Materla.
The 36-year-old, Berkut Arrachion Olsztyn product is considered my many as one of the world’s top fighters and will be looking to further enhance that reputation with a win in Warsaw, Poland.
Mańkowski looks to claim a major scalp with a win over Khalidov
Mańkowski (19-5-1, 3 KO, 7 Sub) has been the number one welterweight in Poland for the last three years and became KSW champion in 2014 when at KSW 27 he submitted fellow countryman Aslambek Saidov who ironically enough is the cousin of his next opponent.
“The Tazmanian Devil” has gone on to defend his 170lbs belt on three occasions, defeating David Zawada, Jesse Taylor and most recently experienced Brit John Maguire in a dominant performance at KSW 37 last December.
Now the 27-year-old, Ankos MMA team member will look to claim the biggest scalp if his career with a win over Khalidov.
