January 13th.14: Ranjeet Baria has vacated the Battle Arena British Lightweight Championship due to sustaining an unfortunate injury. Therefore, the vacant title will now be up for grabs in a clash between undefeated contenders Den Palmer (5-0) and Craig Smith (5-0) at Battle Arena: Leicester on February 22nd. Baria will challenge for the title upon his return from injury later this year, when Battle Arena visits Leicester once again in August.

Representing Siam MMA, Den Palmer most recently competed at Battle Arena: Northampton on November 23, and was victorious over Frenchman Joss Demoux by way of TKO.

Den Palmer said: “I am looking forward to the up and coming title shot against Craig Smith, should be a tough fight, good mix of styles. Battle Arena has been a awesome event and is run well by people who treat you like a person, not just a ticket seller.”

Fighting out of Warriors Bandbury, Criag Smith also secured victory on Nov.23, submitting Brad Jones with a rear naked choke to maintain his unbeaten start to MMA.

Battle Arena CEO James Price said: “Palmer vs Smith – ‘The Omen’ vs ‘The Silent Assassain’ is going to be a great fight. Both lads are unbeaten and hungry for the British title. Both are well rounded fighters. Ranjeet Baria unfortunately had to give up the title due to injury but both Palmer and Smith have agreed to give Ranjeet first shout at trying to retain his title when one of them defends the title at the end of August.”
