Long time UFC veteran Mike ‘Quick’ Swick (15-5) is looking to bounce back from defeat and shift gears in a jump to the middleweight division.

A welterweight contender since 2008, Swick spoke of his intentions this evening via Twitter: “I wanna come back at a big and healthy 185. No more sickly 170 for me!”

Having last competed at 185lbs against Yushin Okami at UFC 69, Swick opted to shed the extra 15lbs pounds, entering the welterweight ranks with victory over current top WSOF contender Josh Burkman in 2008.

With a record of 5-3 at welterweight, Swick was knocked out by fellow American Matt Brown, on December 8, 2012 at UFC on Fox. With the comfort of a less strenuous weight-cut, the 33-year-old aims to once again reinvent himself with a fresh start at 185lbs.
